“(Elijah:) I am the only one left... (God:)Yet I reserve seven thousand in Israel-all whose knees not bowed down to Baal and whose mouths have not kissed him...”  (1 Kings 19:10 and 19:18)

This conversation happened between Elijah and God when Elijah fled with fear for Jezebel's threat right after his unbelievable victory with God's help against the prophets of Baal.  Sometimes we think that we are alone in certain situations.  It's caused by our arrogance or lack of confidence.  But in any case, this idea will come to us when we don't trust God fully.  God loves us and he does not want us to be alone.

While participating in Green Lake Music Conference this summer with our youth and my family, I was happy to see so many fellow church musicians who came from many different states across the country.  Young and old, men and women, people gathered with enthusiasm for the same life goal- to glorify God with musical offerings.  Sometimes the number of people is not our ultimate pursuit, but being part of a crowd sharing the same purpose encourages us in an amazing way.

Now I returned from music camp and want to share the same kind of experience with Westminster church members and reach out to the people in the community.  First of all, I would like to encourage everyone who wants to praise God to take the opportunity to sing and/or play an instrument for God and His people.  You can join one of the choirs or the Westminster Instrumental Group.  If you are not sure if you can make a long commitment, there are other opportunities such as Men's Chorus and associate Chancel Choir members for special events.

We have some special musical events this year including a "Public Concert for Animal Lovers" on October 24, "Messiah Concert" on December 5 and “Children’s Christmas Musical” on December 19.  Our intent through these events is to reach out to people in the community and glorifying God with our best efforts.

Would you like to join us? Please contact me (email: taemin@wpcw.org) or Sally in the church office. We have a spot for you.  Who knows?  God may have reserved you for this moment at this church.
