Take Note - Spring 2021

Posted by Taemin Han on Monday, March 1, 2021, In : Music Notes - Central Reformed

Around each New Year's Eve, many people make a couple of resolutions for the coming new year. I, too, did exactly that this year. Even though there are plenty of possibilities that I can't even remember, some of them forgotten not long after, it is much better to start the year with new plans rather than to start without any plans.

First, for my physical health, I bought two things: golf clubs and an indoor exercise bike. During the wintertime, the best thing I can do for golfing inside is ...

Take Note - Winter 2020

About a week after election day, the weather in Michigan was like early spring, sunny with temperatures sometimes over 70 degrees. During my first year as an international student in Michigan in 1997, I experienced this strange weather in early November. One of my friends told me it's called "Indian Summer."  I thought this was God's great gift at the beginning of a harsh and gloomy winter in Michigan.

I hope we can have this kind of relief moment when encounter difficult times in our lives ...

Take Note - Fall 2020

Posted by Taemin Han on Wednesday, September 16, 2020, In : Music Notes - Central Reformed

Time flies and the end of summer suddenly came up to us. Even with an unclear forecast for our choir year schedule, I decided to clean up our choir room and choir members' folders. Even before this unprecedented situation, it was true that we prayed for good weather and other routine factors for every event we planned and for successful results. But now, with an inte...

Take Note - August 2019

Posted by Taemin Han on Wednesday, September 11, 2019, In : Music Notes - Central Reformed

It has been half a year since I started serving as director of music ministries at Central. I have been happy with all the people in our musical groups and the congregation of Central Reformed Church as a whole. I have enjoyed the excellent musicians in this area too. With these wonderful relationships, I started my musical activities smoothly, with meaningful and graceful rehearsals and services.

During summer time, our musical offerings during services have been fruitful with solo and e...

Newsletter for Chidren at Central

Dear Central Families with Children,

I started music time with little children on Sunday, January 13th ( from 11:30 a.m. to noon) and it will continue for most Sundays from now on.  For the 3rd to 5th grade group of children (456er Stargazers), Sunday, Feb 3rd is the first day to have fun with me from 11:00 to 11:25 a.m. after service.

My plan for each different age group of children will be slightly different. For the younger group of children, music time with me is more like having f...
